Well written, interesting and really entertaining!

I loved all of the stories but the one that really caught my eye was on the abolition of billboards in Vermont. Ted was a friend of ours so it was kind of a treat to see it all written up in the book.

On time as advertised no issues

Getting Real about Getting Older is a must read! It is a book that one will return to many times. It is extremely well written and full of insightful observations about the challenges and opportunities of "getting older." The conversations with and quotes from men and women who are well along in the aging process provide much for the reader to think about and to apply in her/his own life. For those with aging parents and family and friends, the book will help you understand and appreciate how those people are coping and thriving, questioning and answering, doing and being. For those who "fear" getting older, the book highlights what to look forward to as you age. There are many books on parenting, but few books of the quality of this book that discuss the aging phenomenon. I highly recommend Getting Real about Getting Older. It's a very enjoyable read!

As an adult transitioning from the 60's to the 70's I found this book to be fascinating. The way it was written, asking both men and women their thoughts about getting older, was brilliant. And there was humor in so many of the comments.I thought it was particularly charming how they identified the participants comments with such names as: Seventy eight yr. old swinging-wings gal or Seventy five year old could be a polka dotted clown. The authors followed up with insightful questions and suggestions that really made me think about possible solutions to some of the problems we all face getting.....older. I read Linda Stroh's other book called Trust Rules and in fact, I go back periodically to reread some chapters to brush up on some of the concepts she wrote about. She is a great author and when I found out about the new book I preordered it as I knew it would be a good read....it exceeded my expectations!

Still in the middle of this book but so far so good!!!!

A must read for all of us over 65 who look in the mirror and ask, "who is that". The answers to "now what", are addressed in this book. Loved knowing that I'm not the only confused senior. Thanks for helping me grow older, hopefully, more gracefully!

A great read with great insights and advice on how we approach the challenges of aging. I’ll be using this as a Christmas gift for my friends this year.

Very helpful.

Enjoyed the book so much I bought several copies to share with my senior friends.

This book provides excellent fodder for a book club of age 60+ seniors. In fact, my book group discussed it at our last meeting and left wanting more. We decided to continue our discussion informally the following week. The content is thought provoking and chock full of common sense. The quotes from hundreds of seniors really personalized the material for me. I laughed aloud at some and nearly wept at others. The message that came through loud and clear is that all of us are in the same aging boat. The way in which we handle our own aging, however, is a choice each of us makes. One suggestion I have for the authors when they prepare the second edition of this book is to move the discussion of elder care to its own chapter. Currently, it’s tucked into the chapter on being a grandparent. I know I’m not the only reader who, without the help of children and grandchildren, needs to face the issue of who will take care of me when I can no longer fend for myself.
