The book is packed with insight that had radically changed my expectations about the process of launching a food company. I had assumptions about the process of finding a co-packer that was plain and simply wrong. The writer has saved me a lot of time and frustration in explaining what to have prepared for the "co-man" and a preparedness for how challenging it can be to find the right one and additional insights on the tricks of the trade.The author is an industry vet and not a professional author, but I found that a nice change of pace. It felt like he was just talking to a neighbor (who mentioned he wanted to start selling his family recipe BBQ at Whole Foods) and offering his straightforward advice from his career in the industry.

The book is a little shorter than I expected, but it's great because there's no filler content. It's short and to the point. And it's definitely worth so much more than it's selling price. The advice in this book will probably save you thousands of dollars and tons of time and headache (or heartache).

The book is clearly laid out and has great info. He speaks directly, without sugar coating what needs to be done.

Well written, must read, for anyone in the snack food distribution business that is using or plans to use a co-manufacturer. I wish I had read it before making some minor blunders and I appreciate the sage advice in it which helped us better manage the process since.

If you are a food entrepreneur like myself, this is a tremendous resource. We should all be thanking Will for writing this book. Using a "co-man" is a complex and risky undertaking especially for first timers and this book gives us a good understanding of what the process is like. Madden writes in a fashion that is easy to understand and entertaining. I highly recommend it...
